I analyzed the tour group, Taste of San Miguel, to better understand Taste of San Miguel Food Tour’s purpose and goal.
Specifically, studying how well they really engage the tourists with the locals in San Miguel de Allende. In essence, their overall user experience.

Detailed descriptions and information below.
Taste of San Miguel Food Tour offers a very personal encounter.
They value the user experience. Implementing small groups into their tour allows the people to bond easier. It effectively utilizes the small sized party to increase interaction as well as increase comfortability.
For example, while very few of the members are my family, I was able to get to know the rest of my small sized group because the fear of putting myself into a large crowd wasn’t there.
I was comfortable.
I learned that the girl next to me (the left) is an English teacher that works in California, and the guy next to her is a math teacher that teaches in California as well.
The cool part?
They are staying there for a month! Enjoying this beautiful city full of history and beauty is the dream that travelers love!
Joining their small groups to experience the other side of San Miguel de Allende is a truly remarkable experience. To be able to become friends with the people in your tour and the locals around you are the experiences that Taste of San Miguel perfected.
Showing You What You Want to See and Experience
While they come with an itinerary already prepared, they still ask you what you want to see and experience on the tour.
Why does this matter?
If you want to experience something special and unique then the tour guide can make that happen while being able to comfortably continue the flow of the original plan.
And I love it.
They ask you. They want to offer the best experience you could ever have in San Miguel de Allende. From the culinary local heroes to the vibrant colored houses that make up the local neighborhoods.
When we met up at the Paseo de Chorro, our tour guide asked us:
“Is there anything in particular that you would like to see or experience on this trip?”
And without a second to think I yelled out, “I want to meet locals and embrace their local culture!”
Let me be honest:
At the end of the 3-hour tour guide, I felt like I could be the one showing tourists around! LOL!
It was that impacting.
You realize that these culinary gems are in plain sight, but we ignore them because we don’t know what kind of special beauty it can hold. We are introduced to interesting locals that are so special that you want to introduce them to your friends!
It’s crazy, but it’s true.
The Ultimate San Miguel de Allende Culinary Experience
The epitome of Taste of San Miguel Food Tour.
This is their main goal. To show tourists and locals alike what their favorite culinary treasures are. Might I say, we hit the jackpot!
The restaurants they took us to really made us appreciate the blend of cuisines that San Miguel de Allende cooks up. It shows us the side that not many people know.
The crazy part?
While the restaurants weren’t solely Mexican cuisine, they took us to the local favorites. In my opinion, that’s more important and more special because it helps us delve into what the local food-life is about.
To show us not only what the locals love nor what are their favorites, but rather a combination of both to show us the love of San Miguel de Allende’s treasures.
That’s not all…
You also get the perfect blend of different food. Feeling stuffed from the mole or ceviche? No worries, next stop, traditional Mexican ice cream! 😉
Don’t worry! You will feel completely satisfied at the end of the trip. You won’t walk away with your stomach feeling overly full or bloated. Trust.
Overall, you get the best mixture of all different types of foods, ranging from yummy cochinita pibil to refreshing ice cream.
Discovering Beloved Locations in San Miguel de Allende
Trekking through the streets of San Miguel de Allende is a feat.
Roads aren’t leveled so you are constantly looking at your feet to make sure that you don’t break your ankles, there are steep hills to climb, crowds of people on the narrow streets trying to walk pass you so you have to maneuver yourself in a way that allows them to pass, and having to constantly look around you when crossing the street because there aren’t any stop signs.
The worst part?
You forget to look up and pay attention to the beauty and significance that some sites have on the local life.
But good news!
Taste of San Miguel Food Tour has your back.
They stop in front of places that have significance in the locals lives. From a street that shows the top portion of the Parroquia de San Miguel Arcángel to a hidden bull fighting arena.
